I pre-grind and have a camp stove and all. But that emergency jar of instant is a great idea! (Also I make some ahead the night before every storm and put it in a thermos, we lose power a lot). Of course last storm it was water I lost, not power. But I keep emergency bottled water too.
Like you, I pre-brew and keep in a hotpot if things get dicey now bc the house is electric. I have espresso powder I use for baking, so it’s always an option. When I cooked with gas & heated with wood stove, I always had hot food & hot coffee in my French Press. I’m not going without coffee! 😆
Yeah: water is a whole nother problem! I have a well so when power goes out so does my well pump... I assume you've got some combination of "how much drinking water do I pull before the storm" and "how do I make dirty water drinkable" as part of your planning now
