The problem with having society changing to fit our needs is that would require society to constantly change. Everyone has different needs and it is impossible to meet all of those needs. There is also another thing: a lot of people don't want to be autistic. Myself included.

I have accepted that being autistic is a part of who I am, but that doesn't mean that I have to like it or enjoy it. I don't want to be sensitive to certain stimuli. I don't want to have to make sure the toothpaste I use is the right texture. I want to eat mashed potatoes without gagging.

i encourage you to interrogate (in private and/or with a therapist, not here) the reasons why you dont want to be autistic and whether those reasons are inherent to being autistic, or inherent to the way autistic ppl are treated due to societal ableism
