I think this is one of those things where Apple is incentivized to provide basic functionality to sell to parents, but not much more, especially if it means kids play more and beg for more apps and Apple takes 30%.

One of screen time’s job is to sell iPads to parents who might otherwise be on the fence, and I’m worried that’s where the focus is

I mean take a step back here. Harris is up 3 nationally & ahead narrowly in enough states to win, her favorables are good, she has more money than god & a killer ground game. Meanwhile her opponent's favorables are 10 points underwater, has no money, & he farmed his ground game out to hucksters.

It’s wild to see people like Tina Peters getting years in jail for election interference while Donald Trump, the FUCKING RINGLEADER OF THE CONSPIRACY, plays golf and runs for president again.

because ... it gets worse:

The ideas were so grisly and paramilitary-sounding that some Trump administration officials began privately referring to them as his plans for “American death squads.”

In the years since he left office, following his efforts to cling to power, the former president’s desire to finish the job on policing that his first administration couldn’t, or wouldn’t, has only grown more intense. In the final weeks of his 2024 campaign to retake the White House, Trump is now explicitly running on a platform of encouraging domestic law enforcement to initiate — with an idea that drew immediate comparisons this week to the dystopian-horror movie series, The Purge — “one really violent day” of policing to put the fear of god into retail thieves.
