I'm tangentially connected to the program in our neighbourhood. It's good. But it requires a lot of administration & it starts to fall apart in years with a lot of snow. Also, it's impossible to clear sidewalks 100% in area w/ Snow Angels b/c it's targeted to specific residents. #Yqrcc

But it's been fascinating watching them encounter this problem over & over and council just kicks the can down the road over & over again. #yqrcc

All of these measures were dodges by council to try to avoid paying to keep sidewalks clean. They've been told over and over that none of this is working well enough to make sidewalks accessible in winter. EVENTUALLY… council is going to have to pony up some real cash. /4 #yqrcc

It has had some success. But limited b/c work is done by volunteers (depending on neighbourhood, some get small honourariums) & many associations haven't joined program. #yqrcc /3

Didn't really work. Floundered for a couple winters. Then council proposed funding Snow Angel grant programs to fund community assns to get work done. Associations joined program voluntarily & managed their own program. /2 #yqrcc

Admin: But candidates can request a copy of the list for the voters in the area where they are running. #yqrcc

Great thing about broadcasting the meetings is that there's now a video archive of all meetings, how the discussions and votes went. That only started in May of 2020. I've found that archive to be invaluable. #yqrcc
