I think I've read on your blog before that the first sci-fi courses in university were in the 1950s, right? Makes sense that fantasy is still a way behind, although I'm a little surprised it's still that far.

No Bea, if I knew how it worked I wouldn't get confused. And no matter how many times i learn it, I always go and forget it again.

Thanks for the share! I hurt my arm recently and haven't been able to draw and it's driving me crazy 😵‍💫

Kill Your Darlings. A man stands under a low arch, one wrist braced against the stone above him, the other outstretched to the viewer in beckoning. His fur lined jacket slips from his shoulder. Fog covers the ground. Yellow light, evoking street lamps, vividly radiates over sections of the image. The rest is cast into deep dark shadow. The man's eyes glow a similar golden hue, and his ears are unnaturally pointed. On closer inspection it seems this might not be a man at all, but a vampire.
A mythological Nixie, or water spirit, represented as an attractive nude woman with aquatic features floating underwater amid bubbles that swirl around her. Her eyes are golden and her skin is teal with traces of shimmering iridescence on scales and fins. She smiles at the viewer sweetly, her hands framed around her face, her body leaned forwards with legs trailing behind her.
A man stands, staring directly at the viewer from a low angle. His left arm is a cybernetic prosthetic with visible machine parts. He is wearing worn-out clothing reminiscent of Vietnam era combat clothing mixed with punk aesthetic and advanced future tech. Over one shoulder is slung a mix of AK-47 and electric guitar, the neck extending down the barrel. He stands in a foggy scene surrounded by pipes, tubes, electric panels, and wires. He is smoking a cigarette. While there is nothing in the image to suggest this, you now know his name is Truant.
An illustration of a fairy standing on top of a bobbin of thread. She is wearing a patchwork skirt and a flowing gathered top. She has an apron through which she has threaded pins and needles and she is carrying a thimble within which she has gathered scraps of fabric and thread. Behind her is a tomato shaped pin cushion. Her hair is fashioned to resemble two yarn balls. Her purple and cyan wings are spread out behind her.

It isn't the sign up I wanted. But it's the sign up I needed.

Never knew it was called a Gom Jabbar & ngl, the name makes it seem less scary Tho I'm wondering why nobody invented the Gom Jabba the Hutt, where you put a hand inside Jabba the Hutt's mouth instead of a box. Now that's scary (Oh and apparently the Gom Jabbar is the needle not the box - TIL)
