Applications should be about two things: identifying the recipient and characterizing their needs. Inter-agency communication should be the norm, not an exception.

Related: we could dramatically reduce operating costs and improve outcomes of federal programs by eliminating application vetting and means-testing. If someone has "too much income" for a program, guess what! The IRS is gonna have a chance to fix that every year.

Oh, sorry, I meant the OTHER side of it. The scams themselves become easier to automate and mass produce. I didn't think LLMs would actually be *useful* in this context,I just worded my post wrong

To put another way: I'm a neurodivergent Black person with familial history of acute and chronic illnesses; I want to know my doctor is working HARDER to overcome literal centuries of disciplinary bias and view me as a person— not offloading it to some LLM/"AI". bsky.app/profile/hype...

Yikes.

People worry about what it means to be a human being when machines can imitate us so accurately, even at the bedside. The truth is that prewritten scripts have always been deeply woven into the fabric of society. Be it greetings, prayer, romance or politics, every aspect of life has its dos and don’ts. Scripts — what you might call “manners” or “conventions” — lubricate the gears of society.
In the end, it doesn’t actually matter if doctors feel compassion or empathy toward patients; it only matters if they act like it. In much the same way, it doesn’t matter that A.I. has no idea what we, or it, are even talking about. There are linguistic formulas for human empathy and compassion, and we should not hesitate to use good ones, no matter who — or what — is the author.

I would imagine a lot of the low level stuff is pretty easy to automate, or will be with increasing access to LLMs?

I try to vote with the policy of "passion and ideology in the primaries, pragmatic harm reduction in the general" and I wish I could convince more people of this instead of purity testing their general election choices

Awww yeah! Hybrid Cube-Root Wyoming Rule apportionment in the house, 3 Sens/State, 3 USSC Justices per Circuit w/ panels shy of full court for most cases, robust VRA including funding for states to follow/staff up for the rules, binding statehood res for all remaining territories + DC. IMO.
