I see the era of SMAs who try to help the force get better is over and we’re back to “real change happens from changing the uniform” style of leadership taskandpurpose.com/news/army-ne...
Sgt. Maj. of the Army Michael R. Weimer said the current PT gear does not “represent who are as warfighters.”
I couldn’t even name the current SMA before reading this article and am not able to afterward, so, that says a lot.
And soldiers will still have to wear reflective belts.
His use of the word “kit” makes me nervous. Are we going to over-design some “tactical” fitness uniform. The current one already looks great.
ALT: a man with a mustache says but why in yellow letters
What exactly does a soldier's workout kit have to do with being a warfighter? Lot of wars fought in gyms? The damn togs need to breathe, bear up to repeated washings, and say "ARMY" on them. They don't need to be bullet-resistant or have attachment points, for pity's sake.
Coming soon, uniforms made by Fanatics!
If they don’t go with Ranger panties for shorts, they are cowards.
Keep the shorts for financial reasons, go to the coyote tee shirt (combat uniform undershirt) up top, and be done.
That final sentence was brutal.
