I believe the whole point of the scientific journal article is to report the science. Save the 'story' for blogs and press releases.
I get that's the traditional way, I just feel we have much better means of sharing the science now - FAIR data, runable and forkable protocols, micropublications describing postpub impact. The journal format worked for print, but is really the best we can do?
