something I think about a lot is that if you accurately describe the existing immigration system to most people they simply don’t believe you about how awful it is there’s obviously a lot of rampant xenophobia out there but some folks who say “just come here legally” have no idea what that entails

Had a browser tab reload ESPN's website. I briefly saw a headline about Pete Rose dying before it was pushed offscreen by a full page video promoting the ESPN betting app.

this piece is old, but the trump administration's response was to blame the media, a mayor and puerto rico itself while doing its level best to let everyone die

We’ve all become desensitized, but it’s amazing how at this point the Trump campaign rests entirely on denouncing things that aren’t happening — a imaginary bad economy, imaginary runaway crime and now an imaginary failure of Biden and Harris to respond to natural disaster

Reading Elizabeth Moon's The Speed of Dark in 2007 and being unnerved by how much the autistic protagonist thought like I did. I asked my mom (a nurse for 40+ years) about it and she suggested I look up "Asperger's syndrome." And that's how I discovered I was on the spectrum at age 37.

I am 60 years old and living with significant enough disabilities that no other country would allow me to emigrate if Trump is re-elected and “pre-existing condition” exclusions to health insurance return, I will not be able to get medical care yeah, this is the most important election of my life

Hmm. I wonder what Bluesky will do if I just ... oh, I dunno ... casually drop the link to Ken Klippstein's Substack newsletter with the Trump campaign's JD Vance dossier .. right over here ... www.kenklippenstein.com/p/read-the-j... (walks away nonchalantly, whistling)

Read the JD Vance Dossier

We’re publishing the supposed Iran-hacked document. Here’s why.
