why are there *so* many mastodon apps, but hardly any bluesky ones? is it all the extra stuff like labellers and feeds??
All things considered, I'm pretty OK with PLC retconned to Public Ledger of Credentials. I hope that by doing so, it's one less "it's not ready for everyone" argument, and the Bsky team and community can focus on shoring it up instead of quibbling over "placeholder" vibes.

The Personal Data Server (PDS) in #ATProtocol stores structured data on behalf of users. Users delegate to a PDS, and can change it later. Kind of like choosing GitHub for git hosting, running it yourself, etc The user approves apps to write to the PDS.
