I don't think people have quite internalized the fact that this has a chance to be the worst hurricane we've ever seen, in terms of damage and loss of life, given where it's going to hit get out if you can, but I'm not sure how you get even close to this many people out
My elderly aunt and uncle are just outside that red zone. I am hoping hard for it to go a little further away from them. They got lucky with Helene.
It would help if certain governors weren’t using this as a “gotcha” moment
It's dreadful I can't stand that it's just... going to happen
Not disagreeing, but that map does not line up with actual evacuation orders... bsky.app/profile/josh...
I can't get out. I neither have the means nor the ability. The only upside is I live pretty much dead center inland in Florida (Well, north Central anyway). With any luck the city I live in will be okay . But my only choice is to weather it.
So we’re looking at a state-level Katrina event?
That’s basically the entire state. One of the largest too. This is very bad.
It's genuinely terrifying
Though, if you decide to go to Columbia, don't use this map or you're going to end up in the middle of nowhere.
