There is a material explanation for why Democrats are this way. In the 1970s and 80s, interest groups that used to deliver them votes stopped being able to do so, for a variety of complicated reasons. The post-Carter party trialed several alternatives, and the one that won was the conservative DLC.
There is some pressure on commercial authors to minimise or remove notes. It’s thought they put readers off because they make books look too thinky, & of course higher page counts cost more to print & ship. But in an age when we all need to think critically & assess sources, this is disastrous.
Lord, this is a grim approach to personal relationships
okay but like. I'm already voting for Kamala. I live in DC. What I need is for thousands of people in swing states to decide to vote for Kamala, and that's something she has more control over than I do
The political party I'm being asked to vote for to save democracy is perfectly okay with missiles being fired at a hospital & men, women, & children being burned alive & the only defense of this is that the other political party will do things like this, but worse. And I'm asked not to be cynical.
