You don't have to qualify a condemnation of the brutal and deliberate murder of innocent human beings. It requires no "on the other hand." You can and ought to just be against it.
The relentless politicization on Capitol Hill of the Hamas attack on Israel is an affront to the victims and their families
War tends to make capable minds go feeble
Still not clear whether Iran was involved with the planning or whether it even knew about the attack ahead of time. Time will tell.
Where this question over US intel gets interesting is the level of operational planning involvement by Iran, which is a high priority intelligence target for the US. But yesterday's WSJ story notwithstanding, there are lots of reasons to be skeptical
Especially when this part of the world is such a priority for Israel and its advanced intelligence apparatus and technology.
So before you conclude this was a *US* intelligence failure, think a bit more about where Gaza/Hamas ranks as a priority for US national intelligence assets and analysis. The answer is probably "not high on the list." And that's as it should be.
Was this a US intel failure? Short thread I say this with no inside knowledge of our intelligence programs but US intel efforts, to include SIGINT and IMINT, are not all seeing eyes that suck up & process everything around the world. These are, like everything else, prioritized
Good point Judah
Is there an app that allows one to post to both?
