I think "opted" is a big word when a lot of people are encountering surprise $200 fees for vaccination. You can't ask people to go in for a shot they then have to pay half their month's grocery bill for when the whole media machine is telling them it's nothing.

That's terrible! For us it was a supply chain/timing issue. Spouse will not be vaccinated with latest until Nov because his work schedule and the utter lack of availability after the first uptake. He was out of state when I got mine a few weeks ago.
Yup. Also the lack of guidance after an infection doesn't help. I know several people (myself included) that recently got infected and are all wondering if we can get a new shot in time for a December conference.
My local pharmacy didn't even get the shots in until yesterday.
Also it's not easy to find an open appointment and if you do then it gets canceled and you have to look again. And I know people still haven't found pediatric ones
It also just wasnāt widely available on the 14th. My household has to wait until November for our appointment!
when i was in america, i dont remember paying for my shots. this is awful; all vaccines should be free.
Also, my local Kaiser didn't have covid vaccines at the shot clinic until recently, and they didn't send out an email blast to notify people like they did for the flu shots. I got my flu shot earlier and just got the covid shot today.
Yup, paid $155 out of pocket (i have insurance!) because at my hospitalās flu vax clinic they said they wouldnt be doing covid vaxxs this year. THEN like a week later an email comes around āoh weāre going to have free Covid vax tooā grrrrrrrr
It took me three tries to get my booster. 1st time, CVS cancelled my appt because they didn't have the booster in stock (though they let me make that appt anyway). 2nd time, I made an appt at a Walgreens in the afternoon, only to get there and being told they were out.
Vaccines should be free because they are important to everyone's health.
