Bug or feature? I believe their political strategy IS to teach their followers to listen only for emotional content and to disregard logic, science, history, etc. It's not a mistake if it intentionally and successfully convinces their voters to NOT think, and to distrust those who ask them to.

When I read to my children (they're adults now) I always started by reading out the cover, including author and illustrator. Never occurred to me *not* to do that.
If you weren’t in law school > 20 years ago, you may not realize how earth shaking this is. Judge Luttig was the paragon of conservative judges, clerking for him was the surest way to wind up clerking for Scalia or Thomas. He’s obviously changed a lot in retirement but this is still utterly unreal.

The parking lot at my workplace is partially covered with solar panels and it is a very useful setup; beside the power generation, the panels keep the cars cooler and also act as a rain shelter.
