I believe that it is always possible to change one's nature just by being afraid of the first step, such as quitting something that does not suit you, or making "the music you really want to make" which is different from the impression others may have of you. Today is the youngest day of your life.

Our newest book was pulled by a third party (without whose consent it could not be published) at the very last minute, after I refused to remove the words “wants a free Palestine” from my personal bio. It was then decided that the press was too “political leaning”.

5 words in a bio are apparently more “shocking” than a genocide that is taking place in plain sight.

Speaking up is important. Looking away is a luxury. We have long passed the point of niceties and shallow politeness. Human rights should not be contentious, yet here we are.

We don´t deserve peace or freedom any more than the Palestinian people, or the people in Congo, Sudan, Lebanon, Syria or Iran, to just name a few. And we are all one step away from more wars, thanks to our warmongering, deeply racist governments, who don´t put value on any lives but their own, who try to silence everyone who wants peace and a just world and everyone who believes that never again really means never again for every human being.

Fuck YES, Belgium

Sahouraxo tweeting a photo of the message in tvs in Belgian: BREAKING: Belgian TV channel interrupts Eurovision to address Israel’s genocide:

“This is a union action. We condemn the human rights violations committed by Israel. Additionally, Israel is destroying press freedom. That is why we are pausing the broadcast for a moment.”

Out soon!

The cover of Always Fire by Sarah Connor. On the left is the front cover, an abstract painting by Róisín Ní Neachtain in different colors, red, blue, white, yellow. Underneath it it says: Cover art by Roisin Ní Neachtain . See the whole painting and more of Róisín´s work at https://www.roisinnineachtain.com. On the right, there is a blurb by Merril D. Smith, who wrote River Ghosts: In her new collection, Always Fire, Sarah Connor
once again dances between bird-enchantment,
the realization of and reckoning with mortality,
and the joy and comfort found in the day-
to-day business of living. These are potent,
personal poems that speak to our humanity
and connection to the natural world around us.
Read Always Fire. Then read it again--because
these poems sneak up on you, gently grazing
your skin and grasping your heart.
