Deleuze has a tendency toward designing a gameworld for his essays’ readers so there has to be some *formula* and so ‘Bartleby’ flushes it out in this essay as well
the recurring phrase does feel like a monad which is I’m guessing what led him to cling to the text. it sort of floats above the bodytext
the lack of assignable qualities being in the reader
Deleuze had read Melville’s Bartleby probably as it was intended and I think that focusing solely on the language in that case is a dead end
