Community moderation will be effective if done on a small number of people, think subreddits. Bluesky's nirvana was right before the big influx of people last week. That size of the pool was perfect imo. People are disinsentivised to post abhorrent content when in smaller group.

Curious to see if that will lead to something like invisible subreddits in BSky.. Groups of people vibing in their communities and adjusting their algorithm along the way
To help keep Bluesky free and ad-free, maybe BSky should implement paying pennies to read news articles instead of all these subscriptions (similar to Twitter's plan) using a credit balance or similar. in addition to donations this may be sustainable.
it's actually a pretty good idea, Bluesky may have that too, @jay.bsky.team talked about it before using zcash.
