Yeah - the government making it complicated and expensive for councils to choose to keep the Māori wards seems very much geared towards pushing them to scrap them. I'm glad councils didn't just capitulate and agree it's a pointless waste of money to have a referendum now.
If I understand correctly, does this mean the government will now force local councils to have referendums about it? It seems the racists are gleefully anticipating some kind of overthrow of the councils' decisions as a result - but I'm not sure what the mechanism would be. Do you know?
Technically if I were to make and wear this stuff it would be marsh fashion. However, may be of interest to some like-minded folks on here: www.kickstarter.com/projects/chr...

I was just thinking the same thing. Sending a pretty clear message to the government, not that I think it'll listen.
Surprise moorit ewe lamb this morning. I had forgotten her mum was carrying the gene for brown wool. I love me a good brown sheep!

These lil guys are now 24 hours old and going strong. Friend suggested we rename their mum to Lamb Cannon.
Right? I'm pretty sure kids are better off learning when things are and aren't appropriate than just being told never to do them.
One of our new additions to the flock. We're just under half way through lambing and currently have twice as many ewe lambs as ram lambs. I expect it'll even out by the end but if it doesn't we'll be spoilt for choice with replacements!
Here is our first spotty lamb for the season. He will probably be staying with us to produce pretty fibre and keep our rams company, so he needs a name. Or I guess he could be The Nameless One a la Planescape: Torment..
