How do we form memories in the real world and what can that tell us about memory loss and our sense of ourselves? Excited to work with the big scientific 🧠 dreamers on this one. Congrats to @brainscout.bsky.social for getting the $$ to produce what will be a spectacular neuro-show.

My essay: Abortion and the Extremism of Bright Line Rules has been published--a bit painful to read in light of recent events in Texas, but let me know what you think: northwesternlawreview.org/articles/abo...

How do jurors infer mental states? In an amicus brief filed w SCOTUS today, a bunch of evidence scholars and I argue that jurors ought to be able to hear from experts, who can provide reliable group data to help contextualize the circumstantial evidence. www.supremecourt.gov/DocketPDF/23...

It’s appalling and ironic that the TX SCT made an “institutional competence” argument to defer to the legislature, ignoring the institutional competence of medical experts, making *medical* decisions about *medical* emergencies: www.txcourts.gov/media/145764...

SCOTUS claimed it could not enjoin SB8 because the law could not be enforced by state officials. Yet, here we have the TX SG threatening doctors and hospitals with civil penalties under the law. 🤔
