From last night, one of my very favorite big, splashy galaxies, M33 in the constellation Triangulum. Often called the Triangulum Galaxy. #astronomy#Astrophotography

I was surprised by how well my iPhone captured the Milky Way this weekend from my backyard. 🤩🌌🔭

Overly lit houses with a dark starry sky above and the Milky Way standing on end.

If you have clear skies and a small telescope, this week is a good week to look up and see 🪐 Bonus challenge - if you take a photo of Saturn tonight and then one in Feb/March 2025, you'll see the progression of the rings orientation becoming edge-on and 'disappearing' from our perspective.

This is NGC 7814, sometimes called the Little Sombrero Galaxy. Unfortunately the fog came in last night and kept me from getting as much of this as I wanted. I might be able to post a better version tomorrow, depending on sky conditions. #Astronomy#Astrophotography
