For a fleeting and ephemeral moment there used to be a shop on Santa Monica Blvd that was literally just piles of clothes unloaded from studio wardrobe departments. Absolute chaos. Every item was two dollars and it was called "The $2 Store." Just thinking about that for some reason.

Today I learned that in 1974, Frank Sinatra was on tour in Australia and called a woman reporter a "two-dollar whore," and in retaliation, every single service workers union in the country started fucking with him to the point that he was basically held hostage in the country.
