Listening to a policy head of Google speak at @politico's #competitiveeuropeweek. He rightly mentions that forms of AI have been with us for some time. But Europeans have been using it when they search, buy, click on ads, and consume news, yet Europe's productivity lags the US's by quite a margin.

Thoughtful and honest essay. There's a version of AI optimism that argues "we can keep the curriculum unchanged if we just find clever ways to integrate AI in courses,"—and I'm really unpersuaded by it. If this technology makes a difference, there are going to be courses that no longer make sense. +
