Republicans will not listen to your voice. Democrats may also not listen, but there is a better chance they will. by yourself you can't do anything about the situation, but that doesn't make you selfish.
Okay, so how are we supposed to help the dead kids If our government run by the most racist candidate we have is actively oppressing our efforts? It's not selfish to want a government that will listen to us when we cry out for better things.
The thing about the 'leaving the USA to escape fascism is selfish' discourse is that it was never sincere; they never objected to people leaving the US for career reasons (especially those going to Europe,) and obviously saying this about those fleeing Nazi Germany would be grotesque.
Yeah. They were there to begin with. They supported fascism. They supported extreme FYGM views. Its like working at a grocery store and letting the person that sneezes all over the vegetables because they are too selfish to cover their mouth work there. It will take a lot to change them
I also don’t really want to find out if I’m one of the people who would lose my soul if I had Too Much Money. I’d like to think I’m not, but realistically I know I do have a selfish streak and would be tempted by luxury.
I think not enough ppl realize their mental health needs to come first when it involves "staying informed". Taking in the vast sea of human suffering on a day to day basis is not healthy. It can feel selfish, but sometimes you have to limit your information consumption, lest it consumes you.
