We had loads of puddles too. We always laugh at the tourists who try to skirt round them, you’re going to get wet and muddy so might as well get on with it! Safer too
Tenner is the normal, you can pay 40 euro for 2 drinks in temple bar and eating out is a disaster. Dublin centre is on its arse with restaurants closing down and it’s only tourists keeping it going. There’s a drive to get people in but it’s just too expensive and a little violent these days
Just got reminded of the time I overheard American tourists refer to a tattie scone as "potato flat bread"
Also sometimes Black people do stuff just for us. Just because you have access to it doesn’t mean it’s for you. There was a Pan African festival in town and I saw plenty of white people there acting like tourists. 👨🏻 Grand rising my Nubian! Don’t you love the pattern on this African hockey jersey?
I imagine bus drivers and other locals in a hurry to anything other than sell novelty rulers get quite pissed off by English tourists wasting their time butchering the name.
I may have burned bridges with mutuals on Twitter who are still in the "anti-woke" camp over Scott Pilgrim, but I regret nothing. Now I see the anti-woke grifters for what they are: Lying scumbag tourists who destroy fandoms like a plague of locusts.
Indeed, a bit silly. Anyway, tourists actually 'on a tour' with itinerary, guide, etc. who are the target of the quote, are afaict only a subset of 'tourists'. Maybe they see what they're told. The rest are travellers or visitors, and at least here in Berlin, they will see [ahem] a lot of stuff 🫣
Is it rather touching or rather pathetic that privileged people who travel from home to enjoy time elsewhere are desperate to distance themselves from people they call tourists?
