I am a properly educated person. As such, I prefer the term "derriere dome."
I don’t think Collin Allred is going to win on the grounds that most people I talk to (in a liberal, well educated city) barely know who he is. Beto had a huge amount of momentum to come up slightly short, and he did 10 points better than the dem gubernatorial candidate
I mean, like pretty much every educated white leftist I’ve read all the Che Guevara books and Wretched of the Earth and watched Pontecorvo and so forth. So when I see people dreaming of a revolution in a country with 40% of the people backing a fascist demagogue I just 😵💫😵💫😵💫
and idk i just couldnt take the emotions from the past year finally getting to me on the eve of the anniversary of all this. i still think, stupidly, that ppl can become better if only they learn and are educated. im a teacher after all, i have to have faith in that? but its not true.
Culture and history, I think. Plenty of extremely well-educated wealthy people in Orange County, but republicans have cultivated a siege mentality there for... maybe as far back as 80 years at this point? Definitely at least the 1950s.
Yeah, actually, we can. I'm 50. I'm as cis-gendered as it gets. And I can deal with it just fine, because I educated myself, I understand where it comes from, and I understand the need for a neutral term that means "not trans." You don't have to be thrilled, but you do have to adjust.
Huh. And to think, maybe we shouldn't have given working slobs, who aren't actually educated on the law, any kind of authority and a gun.
I'm going to spread harmful misinformation about the medical uses of helium in the most poorly educated neighbourhoods, demanding the CEO of Party City's head on a fucking pike for wasting our precious and dwindling resource
Don't change the subject. You accused someone of feigning marginalization because she is educated. What do you want to accomplish by attacking fellow trans people?
