question: my publisher needs live text obviously for the most part, but some of my text is like covered up with other balloons or art elements--do you just put masks on that text, or do you rasterize and flatten with the art?? I'll ask them if nobody knows, just curious if there's a convention

My preliminary attempt at filling in the serrated edges. It's ALMOST working, though I think I need to redo the corner. Maybe add in a couple of extra stitches. I think I'll be doing another, mostly single-crochet row after this that will use HDC in the dips to flatten it out further. 3/3

If I'm being completely honest, it's wildly rare for men to set her correctly. There are a tiny handful of good examples (Hundley's "Will There Really Be A Morning" comes to mind), but the vast majority either flatten her into Dainty Cute Flowers Girl or Melodramatic Sad Woman. Neither is any good.

It's a trap to think she's simple enough for beginners (and ESPECIALLY for composers who aren't passionate about poetry) just because she's often rhythmically consistent. She's often HARD to interpret. I've heard too many manglings that flatten or outright mischaracterize her and her works.
