We have had legislation since 1992 but the onus is on me to handle individual businesses. The NHS should have minimum standards agreed with all service users so that I can be sure of access. It was the same with lock down vacs as so many premises werent #Accessible or they made them inaccessible.

This is particularly the case because we're going to repeal a bunch of anti-trade union legislation and a bunch of that was misleadingly badged as anti-lobbying legislation, so it was always going to come up anyway.

Today is a good day to die? The devils in the details. And so far the details aren't being discussed widely enough. I don't trust our MPs to put checks in balances in place ensuring the Assisted Dying legislation isn't abused by callous austerity.

And ONLY if the answer to that last question is "the pieces of legislation that have been passed and are being passed to restrict abortion after the Dobbs decision seem like a good vehicle" do we reach a position that's relevant to the current political debate IMO.

The anti-abortion argument is that medical ethics have morally failed here so legislation is needed. Your example goes to that, showing a doctor doing something you think & hope others agree is morally wrong. But I think what's actually relevant here is the medical guidelines the doctor is under.

‘The California experience shows London the kind of lobbying battle it could be up against, and highlights how carefully Whitehall officials will need to tread when drafting their own #AI legislation, which the British government hopes to consult on before Christmas.’
