But ant, if you rest, you're not generating value. How can you perform the only Objectivist Good if you're not increasing profits and generating value???
The Libertarian party seems to have fully embraced the objectivist view. I don't find members anymore who hold different views, the party doesn't even seem to entertain other views anymore. So I had to ditch it. Not that I ever found myself voting for any of its candidates anyway.
I forgot to finish this thread when I got interrupted. I am not an objectivist, and so I had a different belief about what the government existed to do and what powers it needed to do that. And that was fine! The party seemed capable of handling that difference. But that isn't true of it anymore.
Most of the problem of Snyder is he is a Ayn Rand Objectivist and that philosophy that was popularised in Wall Street that Greed is good is why the Snyder "Heroes" don't act heroic there brutal they are mean and especially his Superman acts like rescuing people is a chore with a stony face.
Are there important social epistemologists who are *not* epistemic relativists of some sort? Can you do global epistemologies, Epistemol. of the South, IKS, etc. from an objectivist perspective. (S. Fuller says I should use “universalist”, I refuse). Most seem to subscribe to ill-defined “pluralism”
To me this was always the driving force and it wasn't some that was a philosophical error - it was the whole point of the project and clearly what was pushed by Objectivist core of the movement
“This bar is themed after a right-wing pastiche of an extremely niche super-hero created by an Objectivist” is such a weird choice, conceptually.
and if it *is* some kind of Objectivist-adjacent paen to why we should all be ruled by hot psychopaths who look like Adam Driver, then I should already have seen it 11 times and have a ton of defensive and semi-ironic rationalizations but *I literally have no idea what this movie was doing*
I’ve always wondered about who cleans the toilets in the Objectivist ubermench paradise.
