Some of us can’t “live with” mask bans. They put our literal lives at risk. Imagine telling a disabled person to give up a mobility aid? Or any other medical device? This is wrong. People should have disability orgs backing them on this.

Screenshot of a twitter post from @victoriacoble15 which reads Today @DisabilityRtsNC is actively telling North Carolinians right now that if a store discriminates against you for wearing a mask and will not let you in, to LIVE WITH IT.

Followed by a second post saying Disability Rights NC does not even wear masks in their own offices. They do not protect their own staff.

It's been the slowest of the fundraisers that we've done all year, which is sort of surprising. Hopefully that just means people are donating directly. Part of all of this is to help raise awareness of important orgs doing the work.

Yes, this is where the lack of mediating institutions with which to engage in public life and national politics indirectly has underrated consequences: Things like: unions/professional orgs, religious congregations, social organizations (VFW's, Elks clubs, etc), and of course a local news media.

I think the majority of programmers at tech companies do not belong to professional orgs.

The orgs who are helping are also struggling, and they are surviving on fumes and good will and sheer determination.

Have tried many times to connect indie writers or big pub authors for indie work, even tangentially, to the power of non-pub orgs to start paying writers and it's an instaboot plus writer silence because what if they could be punished next. Try to do it anyway and die slowly. I mean, I'll still try.

That’s not true at all in terms of design. We did a lot of work during this administration finding and supporting judicial candidates (along with other orgs like Demand Justice, etc.) Especially in red states where the progressive bench wasn’t that well known. Funded though, absolutely.

I joined my peers on Bandcamp Friday to donate a track for this album, which is a full reveal of one of the tracks from Wilmot Works It Out! its revenue goes towards orgs like UNRWA for Palestine, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, and the World Food Programme, please support these good groups

Would someone please confirm that @Fema is NOT in fact confiscating private orgs donated food to Helene disaster area & deeming it 'not FEMA approved' as this very kind gentleman has noted in this short video as he heads from TX to NC to help himself: youtu.be/AdREr70z7f8?... Not good, if true.

I mean, if air traffic control in WNC isn’t operating, the smart thing is to limit the space to search & rescue aircraft and National Guard helicopters bringing supplies in. Two orgs can coordinate flight paths in advance. Well-intentioned yahoos need to land at functional airports.
