Orem, UT is not a walkable city. Exhibit A: Sometimes a sidewalk just abruptly stops and the pedestrian has to walk on the shoulder. (There is no sidewalk on the opposite side of the street either).
Yeah I mean, Iām a pedestrian, transit user, and former serious cyclist. I donāt have a lot of hope. Iām just pretty sure there are levers available if we got a government that would use them.

I've been committed to living w/o cars all my life, and this close.city?x=-122.33&y=... map is a great tool to ID where you can live as a pedestrian. I finally settled in West Philly this past year, with no regrets. It should be feasible for more folks to access groceries & essentials on foot.

Yeah biking that is x-games-level commuting. But thatās actually my current pedestrian commute on some days. Most times is e-bike up Buffalo St.
On Mon 9/23/24 6:20 pm a hit & run driver going south on Maryland Ave at Courthouse Sq/E Montgomery Ave, with a stop sign, hit & injured a pedestrian (40/F) crossing in the crosswalk. Rockville PD (DD5665002H) found nobody at fault.
Itās so fucking good!! Top 5 show for me. And yeah, I think people had an easier time swallowing Tony Soprano than Don Draper because Donās evil was so pedestrian and bourgeois. He wasnāt some fantastical criminal. He was just an emotional, morally flexible guy who was good at advertising.
On Sat 9/21/24 7:10 pm the driver (66/F) of a 2020 Honda Accord turning left [on greenš¢] from Firstfield Rd to Clopper Rd/117 hit & injured a pedestrian (67/M) crossing in the marked crosswalk [on WALK]. Gaithersburg PD (EJ79060013) found the driver at fault.
Seems very relevant as to whether or not the pedestrian signal button works.
