If you’re super-rich, you will be surrounded by yes-men (yes-women, yes-people). Either you’ll assume this is because you’re a genius & become a massive dickhead, or you’ll realise they’re all after your money & become hopelessly insecure. Those are your choices. Being super-rich is bad for people.
I wonder if because of this, the rich are more susceptible to right wing programming than the general populace.

Sorta wonders how this generalizes. If you're super-smart you're surrounded by X, which alters you like Y. If you're very pretty you're surrounded by Z, which alters you like W, etc.

Exactly why we should tax the rich - it's for their own good.
There is a fairly strong argument it's impossible to become a billionaire without be a sociopath at a minimum. I'm always reminded of the article (well, the original from Medium but he's put that behind a subscription now).

Personally I think it is not that being super rich makes you horrible, being horrible is how you get to be super rich. Normal people would stop at, say $20m, and try to enjoy life.
There's now a new American twist, where you can insist a doctor supply you with lots of the drugs you want and that kills you.
