Anyone know what evidence-based treatments for ME/CFS the NHS is open to exploring? I'm concerned that the Bristol CFS clinic is going to lean into "if it's not spelled out by NICE we ain't trying to get you well", (besides physio, OT and talking therapy). Thanks! #MECFS#pwME#NHS#LongHauler

Private sector is doing lots in functional medicine: nutrition, mito function support, immune system rebalancing, breath work, LDN, Abilify, anti virals, treating OT/POTS MCAS etc. But I fear our NHS is not willing to practice the functional medicine that private sector is utilising effectively.

Officially, I believe it's only pacing. If you can get an OI or POTS dx, then you get meds for that, and I think there are even meds for Fibro now but, afaik, there are no official treatments for ME for the NHS to be able to offer them.

I've had ME since 1998. I now have a knowledgeable GP for the first time. She has successfully/miraculously treated my (episodic) intense neuropathic pain with Gabapentin, which is recommended by the MEA. It is an anti epilepsy drug, so this is 'off label'. Good luck!

I’ve had positive experience online with an OT from Bristol ME Service. Out of curiosity, I’ve been through the Bristol ME Service NHS website & there’s no mention of any medical involvement. OTs, PTs, dieticians & psychologists but no doctors.
