Nerdy advocate for static websites and the tools that build them. Inveterate supporter of the Oxford comma. Old enough to remember when Americans were proud to be anti-fascist. Admitted Apple fanboy — don’t judge — but also very pro-Linux.

The 1Password browser extension adds `injected.js` (674 Kb) to each page. If you use the extension and are trying to measure your pages’ download size, filter out this script by name in the Inspector view of your preferred browser **or** just use Inspector within a private/“incognito” tab/window.

After reading this, checked my existing styling as processed through autoprefixer, found the vendor prefixes that had been added, and manually added them to my styling — so it now doesn’t require any additional tools for cross-browser compatibility. #WebDev#Browsers#CSS#PostCSS#Autoprefixer

A brief RIP to the good era of The Daily Beast, the best newsroom I've ever worked in. We beat everybody and made the big papers very mad about it. We also did it with a lot of empathy and care and without the soullessness of a Murdochian tabloid. I guess that's over. Anyway, it was a good website.

Because I saw that my 2022 post on Hugo’s image processing often ranks among my most-viewed content, I went back and revised it to include Stuff I’ve Learned Since Then™ and make it make it more useful.
