I’m very struck by the fact that kids who grow up in the TFL zone have basically free and highly efficient transport over a huge area whereas in other parts of the country our kids have to pay a lot of money for infrequent and unreliable transport. The impact that has on your horizons must be huge.

I forget to order tagliatelle on shopping delivery so decided to make some instead. The rolling it through the pasta mangle proved hard work for my cancer addled body but here's supper! I even mixed the egg & flour mix by hand just like a Nonna would do. Alas I had to imagine the Amalfi coast...

Handmade pasta drying.

It’s that time of year again... 🍎 🍏 15 yrs ago I invested in an Excalibur Dehydrator, and have never regretted it. We have scrummy dried apple rings to eat and share throughout the year. They never run out…. in fact my grandchildren probably think they grow and multiply in our cupboards! #apples

On second checking, inspired by the marvellous Martin Macdonald I find that Britain's participation in Erasmus cost a mere £200 million a year. The £3.34Bn figure was the value of the entire program. Amazing value for money and there for the asking. The EU offered it and we turned it down.

A blue faience hippo from #AncientEgypt - these little guys are so charming (& much less scary than hippos in real life!) This one lives in the KHM (Vienna), & is least 3800 years old! AncientBlueSky
