"we are not made of sugar"
❤️. If I ever have such a role I will do the same. Sorry I did not see you at APSA! If I'd known there was an outdoors event (APCG?) I would have tried to show my (masked) face... I just assumed all the happy hours etc. would be in crowded bars.
That's a good point -- they could for sure have added some more communication/masks/etc. Would love to add a CUP sponsored N95 to my collection!
There are only 4 real mitigations available: clean air, vaccinations, proper masks, nasal sprays. Conference organizers can't do much about 2-4 (that's on us), but they could do much better at promoting 1. That means HEPA filtration, meals and meetings in outdoor spaces, open windows, etc.
Like an applied piece using "big data" or a piece about "big data"?
I tried the second and was enjoying it more, but got a headache and had to stop unfortunately.
Tbf those were dystopian visions.
This was one of the few things I enjoyed about being a baby parent...
Thanks, I had assumed it was gonna be good data!
Yeah, to me the most damning thing in the original thread was the bit about the dean demanding solo work. That seems like it's going to exclude large chunks of polisci, let alone most of psych, public health, cognitive science, and data science.
