The point being, politicians and oil execs can pretend climate change isn’t a real thing. You know who acts like it’s a real thing? Insurance companies, intelligence agencies and the military. Act accordingly.

And who else? EarthFirst! forest protectors. The EF! Journal was writing of this in the 90's & 00's. DFHs with PhD's warned us. Sigh.

Now if only I could get my dad to accept man made climate change is a thing. He's convinced this is all natural @.@

Insurance companies know a systemically bad bet when they see one and if people can’t afford the premiums to make it worth the risk, they’ll just take their ball and go home. Florida has a few wrinkles but it’s a great example of this.

They estimate 646 people died from heat last year in the city. The US is one power failure away from a 10k heat fatality event in a major city. Assuming a hurricane doesn’t get there first.

People don't properly understand that at a certain point, AC no longer cools the air, it only conditions it, unless you want to burn it out. A couple months under a heat dome will break most cities.

It’s my understanding that various folks in Great Lakes-area states have been discussing how to deal with climate migration for a while.

No oil execs are pretending climate change isn’t real afaik. Things have moved on. Publicly accepting climate science is necessary but absolutely not sufficient.

Insurance companies have been trying to pull out of Florida for years.
