The Guimarota taxon was originally named "Theriosuchus guimarotae", later revised to 𝘒𝘯𝘰𝘦𝘵𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘬𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩𝘶𝘴 𝘨𝘶𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘦. The genus was erected in 2017, based on specimens from the Langenberg quarry.

Arguably some of the coolest mesozoic crocs were Atoposaurids. At the #Andrés Quarry, various teeth and a partial maxilla seem to belong to a member of this family. The remains are very similar to those found in the Guimarota Mine.
