"The one-time license is an alternative for those who don't want to pay $69.99 annually for Microsoft 365."
If you're not a fan of the $69.99 annual fee for Microsoft 365, you can get a lifetime license for Microsoft's suite of apps for $149.99.
Not that I'm fond of Microsoft, you understand, but if one must use their offerings this seems the best way.
Info also apparently says it's resident on your machine, not cloud-dependent, so that's a bonus. If I didn't already have '19, I'd have to buy just for that.
But this version is AI free? Oh noooooooooooooowuh.
Good, but... no Visio? 😣
“Users will also miss out on real-time collaboration and Copilot AI integration, which are available with Microsoft 365, Ars Technica notes.” OH NOES!
📌 for after the next royalty cheque shows up in my mailbox…
I bought a 2021 Pro from some sketchy website with keys for ~$12 year ago. To my surprise it activated without a hitch and now I only need to login with my MS account to Office, to activate it after OS reinstall. Seems like you can get a good deal on a standalone legit license these days.
Still better but in case people assume incorrectly, no doubt a "lifetime license" doesn't mean the customer's lifetime though...it probably means "for a couple years until MS decides to end that version"
