The hyperlink is the *point* of the internet! Without links it’s shit broadcast media.

They’re literally the “inter” in internet. The “web” in the World Wide Web.

It’s become enough of an issue that I don’t bother putting URLs in my company posts any more. They just crushed by the algorithm. Everything has to serve the agenda of keeping users on site and scrolling or they destroy it.

I remember this from the first internet-related job I had. Managers were pathologically averse to including links to anywhere outside our site because they wanted to keep people consuming rather than to provide them with a service

No agency to make links, only take the connections you are given. All platforms are equal but some are more equal than others.
