Decades ago, a dozen friends gathered on the National Mall for breakfast. Despite the extravagant scene being captured by a Post photographer, the people at the center remained a mystery. That is until Joyce Naltchayan Boghosian put the pieces together.

This photo on the National Mall captivated the country decades ago. The real story behind it remained a mystery — until now.

In 1974, a group of friends met the unthinkable with a lavish celebration. The real story behind a photo that captured the moment remained a mystery until now.

For my Climate Lab column, I made a map of how much nature is in every neighborhood in America. Spending time in nature is positively correlated with living longer & healthier. 🌳 Search the map and look up your neighborhood here: www.washingtonpost.com/climate-envi... 1/6

Spending time in nature is linked to a longer, healthier life. But nature is not distributed fairly across the country.

Wegmans has an ethnic-foods section for B*itish people and it's a really harrowing look at what went wrong over there

Grocery shelf displaying Batchelor's mushy peas ("Ireland's favorite since 1935"), Heinz Salad Cream (Original - Deliciously Zingy), and Red Cabbage With Apple (says it's Germany's #1 cabbage brand, but they put it with the British stuff, and I believe them)

I used to work for a publisher of children’s textbooks, and one of the things we had to look for in illustrations was the forbidden combination of animals wearing clothes and animals au naturel, because the presence of the former transformed the latter into degenerates
