if a studio or streaming service writes off and purges a show or movie for tax reasons they should be legally required to put it up on youtube in full hd and formally cede that work into the public domain

FWIW I think the Ignyte model is by far the best: juried shortlist stops it *just* being a popularity contest with the same faces, and achieves the best outcome for any award ie visibility on worthy things that were getting missed. And then no barrier to entry for voting. It's brilliant.
Or, hear me out, we could stop pouring money and energy into the insatiable void – hoping that it will, somehow, magically and despite all evidence to the contrary, solve everything – and instead invest in real human beings doing actual science.

Just saw a post saying most published authors stop publishing after 3 books, and while that *can* be used as a "wow, those of us who make it past that are so resilient!" I think it *should* be used to acknowledge that most *already published* authors get chased out of publishing.
