It's interesting that Aonuma describes this negatively. It's taking out a middle step of kill enemy -> rupees -> shop/arrows -> kill enemy? Instead the enemies can drop arrows directly. While it's not always good to remove friction from a loop, I don't know how fun traveling to a shop really is.
Sounds awesome! Is the book more nuts and bolts "how to put a level together" tutorial, or is it also higher level theory stuff?

😭rip - at least there's some comfort that a pop isn't coming soon. Maybe?I assume a bubble can only pop once? Lol who knows with economic metaphors I've been intentionally working without funding myself, but I want to play more indies! fund them, economy!
A while ago, I was experimenting with foggy depth effects in 2D. I'm pretty happy with where it landed, but it does require a lot of bespoke, gradient-covered tiles.
Cool observations about how indies push the industry forward! But I think this shows me I don't know what a bubble is, or what it is to burst 😂 Is it that low interest rates meant funding, but now it's stopping because of high rates? I should probably understand this better, as an indie dev lol 😬
Some screenshots from my game Ocean's Heart. The new game, Tombwater, has been a lot of brown dusty landscape so far, I'm getting impatient to add in more diverse landscapes like Ocean's Heart has.
I'm Max, I'm currently working on a Wild West / Eldritch Horror game. It's like Bloodborne but yee-haw but Zelda too!
Thanks! 🥰
