I think there are DIA applications were MS1-based quan has shown benefits (i.e. plexDIA). Also more recent algorithms like QuantUMS make use of this Information to inprove accuracy/precision…

At same time have 2 timsTOFs running for a year w/o performance drop. Have only cleaned ion transfer interface once which takes 5 minutes..

Quad cleaning every 3 months on multiple Exploris and Eclipse systems running 24/7. Individual systems seem generally more affected by charging than others requiring extra cleaning. Note that we have removed FAIMS devices. Possibly would keep dirt out but have no capacity for weekly cleaning…

Anyone having a good explanation why all Orbi systems require frequent cleaning while timsTOFs just continue to run stable ?
