In Core #MathsToday, we did some Fermi estimations around recent news stories. Estimating how large the camping area would need to be at Leeds Festival, and estimating how long it would have taken people in neolithic times to transport a 6 tonne Stonehenge stone 700km from Scotland.
In #MathsToday we were exploring quadratics. This question from RISPS generated some great discussions on the relationship between turning points and symmetry. We didn't quite get to the bottom of it though, so more fun next lesson!

I’ve used the Ofqual analytics tool to separate out the A level Maths distributions for those who also take A level Further Maths and those who don’t. For the latter, the distribution looks similar to that for Chemistry A level.
