When working on chrome we did a study and found that very few devs (~2%?) don’t use frameworks. These devs are less likely to use any other tools, and most work alone. In other words: hobbyists and dabblers Frameworks are an integral part of the web platform. Silly to compare them to a cybertruck

We also reviewed some perf data by framework, and sites using Polymer and Web Components were the *slowest*. SSR is essential to quickly seeing pixels and WC were all client-side. Interestingly, they were also slower to be interactive. Too much JS processing in the way?

For sure. Literally all of my work with other people for the last at least ten years of my life has been in frameworks. My personal website? Yeah, it's bare HTML, CSS, and Vanilla JS. Because I like playing with those things. But the pros for frameworks in pro teams hugely outweigh the cons.

I want to know a dev who enjoys writing 100s of <wc-option>…</wc-option> inside their <wc-dropdown> **declaratively** by hand… and that’s only scratching the surface.
