This instalment of #histbookchat#photofriday (a re-read after maybe 20 years) might be a bit of a counterpoint to my last entry.
As an aside, if you haven't had a chance to read Hunzeker's "Dying to Learn" that may be of interest. Sort of an update to Samuels, and includes the French perspective. Personally I'm not sold on his thesis, but it's an interesting argument.
Out of interest, what were your final thoughts on Samuels?
