This is the fundamental paradox of AI: if it's actually helping you, there is no way to know when it is no longer helping you. Put another way: if you can supervise it effectively enough to catch its mistakes, you probably didn't need it in the first place.

indeed! I usually tell my mentees that a diss/thesis must have strong intro & foundation bc the next generations will use these texts to learn when entering the field, while papers must get to the point objectively to share the results. it's simplistic but that's the key difference I think
