AI is not a fad and it's not going away. This isn't crypto or 3D TV. It's a legitimate tool that is growing in ability and usefulness daily. I am just one of tens of thousands of individuals using it every day for both work and recreation.
Unless your LLM can be trained to give me a handjob, it's useless.

This thread is full of weird reactionary nonsense. I think “AI in all your things” is dumb and often just a marketing ploy to repackage existing products. That said, AI is genuinely useful in a lot fields, but it’s not really ready to be consumer facing.
AI could not be a fad (honestly we can't know) and there could also be loads of useless applications bundled into products.
