#foodstudies I am revamping my food cultures course to include more-than-human food cultures of fermentation. What should we read ?
i made tea outta the violets but it didn't have the desired color so i added some butterfly pea flowers to make it that real nice bluey/purply color. fermentation really took off last night and i woke up with the airlock full of v colorful material
This isn't fermentation but I did accidentally discover that if you take bacon out of the packet and leave it in an open container in the fridge it will dry out and basically last forever without going off
Ah shit. I hope you can take all your jars and fermentation vessels with you to the new place and start a fermentation station again 🙂
I'm obsessesed with fermentation of all kinds, I just love the idea of putting microbes to work to make my food better. Sourdough has a special place in my heart because you develop the culture yourself instead of buying it which I think is just wonderful.
